Record $8.9 million St Kilda house price

There has been an $8.9 million record price paid for a St Kilda house.
The sale was an off-market deal for the 1904 Queen Anne style period home at 8a St Leonards Avenue.
It has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, on its 1300 sqm plus holding.
It last sold in 2013 at $4,317,000.
It sold in 1999 at $1.65 million and at $77,500 in 1978.
A Fitzroy Street terrace across two titles fetched $7 million in 2012 with higher prices secured for a contemporary St Kilda West house trading for $11.7 million.
