Catch Group co-founder Hezi Leibovich and his wife, Lina, spent $19.75 million in Brighton in a secret off-market deal.

However, the sale of the 2,600 sqm parcel of land on one of Brighton's "best streets", according to agents, did not break a price record for Brighton.

The record is still held by the late 7-Eleven co-founder Beverley Barlow's $22 million sale at 39 Seacombe Grove in 2015.

The 14 Glyndon Avenue property was brokered through Marshall White estate agent Ben Vieth.

The Glyndon Avenue's vendor bought the property in 1975 for $225,000.

The sale follows the $230 million deal which Leibovich shared in after the sale of Catch Group to retail conglomerate Wesfamers.

The Leiboviches started the company in 2006.
