Pat Rafter secures Tweed Heads West investment

Tennis legend Pat Rafter has secured an investment near the border of New South Wales and Queensland.

He snapped up a four bedroom home in Tweed Heads West, paying $540,000 after it spent less than two weeks on the market. He has plans to lease the property.

The two level family home sits about an hour north of his Byron Bay base, where the two-time grand slam champ now resides.

He's finished the build on 38 hectares at Broken Head, next door to Chris Hemsworth's mega mansion.

He recently completed a tennis court and a clubhouse, having finished the home with a construction cost believed to be around $3 million. He paid $1.35 million for what was just a paddock five years ago.

It was the second home he's built, having previously resided on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

He had John Burgess design his Sunshine Beach absolute beachfront which he sold for $15.2 million in 2017.

The property, touched up over the last few years, is back up for sale with $20 million hopes.
