Baerami House Farm, a historic property in the Upper Hunter region of New South Wales, has been offered for sale via online auction.

It is expected to sell in a range of $3.75 million to $4.25 million.

Surrounded by the Wollemi National Park, the Georgian-style sandstone homestead at 300 Baerami Creek Road, Baerami Creek is described as a home among the gum trees.

The property was taken up in the 1830s by Emmanuel Hungerford – later gifted to his son in 1852, Australian pastoralist, politician and at one stage reputedly the country’s largest landholder, Thomas Hungerford.

Other past owners include the Martindale White Bros., the MacFarlane family, and more recently barrister Douglas Staff QC.

The current owners having held the property for the past 17 years.

The two storey homestead was constructed in 1875 from locally quarried sandstone and is described as the ‘jewel in the crown’.

It comprises four bedrooms, large formal sitting/library, dining, eight open fireplaces and renovated kitchen.

Additional guest accomodation include the attached studio accommodation/office and adjoining self-contained three bedroom weatherboard cottage.
