South Sydney Rabbitohs star Damien Cook and wife Courtney have settled on a home in the Sutherland Shire ahead of the birth of their first child. They have snapped up an original home at Woolooware.

It was just nine days on the market before the in-form hooker secured it for $1.5 million through McGrath Sutherland Shire agents Michael Gleeson and Sarah Conneely Smyth.

The home needs updating, given it is in original condition, having last traded for $125,000 in 1986.

Set across one level, the three-bedroom home has verandas at the front and the back.

There’s a rear entertaining space adjoining its grassed lawn on the 605 square metre block, no doubt space enough for their dog Huxley.

Cook had his breakout season last year that saw him take the Dally M Hooker of the Year award, as well as his Origin debut.

This year he’s been key in helping Souths cement a spot in the top four on the NRL ladder.

Cook and Courtney, an administrative assistant at Racing NSW, tied the knot late last year at Royal Randwick Racecourse.

They’re expecting their baby in early November.

As reported recently by What’s the Buzz, Cook has bought into the new La Cure Wellness Centre in Caringbah, which specialises in healing treatments.

Cook says floating for 45 minutes inside a magnesium salt tank has helped his career.
