The Pymble home of the late World War II Spitfire pilot Lysle Roberts, who headed jeweller Fairfax and Roberts but called himself a salesman, has been listed for sale following his death last year.

Sunnydale Cottage, the 1928 colonial Georgian Revival-style residence on 1275 square metres on Mocatta Avenue, was bought in 1950 for £9000.

The four bedroom home has $2.5 million hopes for its September 28 auction.

There are $8 million hopes for his longtime Palm Beach weekender.

The Iluka Road property was rebuilt in the ’70s and comes with a passageway to the beach.
