Shaddow Downs Estate, an historic farm at Gingin in Western Australia, has been listed for sale at $9,675,000.

English farming pioneer William Locke Brockman settled on 4000 hectares in 1842 in the Cheriton Valley on the Darling Range Escarpment.

The now 467 hectare property has three individual titles.

The priciest is the largest, some 236 hectares primed for livestock and cropping with two homesteads.

That's priced at $4,725,000.

One of the homesteads is known as Octagon House, an architecturally designed octagonal home with four bedrooms.

The second is a five bedroom manager's house with a pool.

The 151 hectare lot, also prime for livestock and cropping, is for sale at $2.7 million and the third lot spanning 78 hectares, with subdivision potential and a third residence, is listed at $2.25 million.

Across the whole property there are 24 dams which captures and retain 85% of all rainfall.

Garland International agent John Garland is marketing the property on behalf of the Schofield family.
