Another development to add to Melbourne’s growing skyline is Queens Place, the city’s new landmark $1 billion project from developer 3L Alliance. Situated at the fringe of Flagstaff Hill at 350 Queen Street Melbourne, this development has been collaboratively designed by architects Fender Katsalidis Architects and Cox Architecture, with interiors by Hecker Guthrie.
Intimate laneways, paths, and passages will snake through the twin towers at ground level and form a manifold of connections within the precinct, delivering convenience and enjoyment to Queens Place residents. Comprising 1,700 apartments across a height of 80 levels, both towers will share a podium of five levels designed by Cox Architecture. Stained in earthy tones and exposed stonework, the podium will give the silver wall-glazed towers the illusion that they are floating high into the horizon.
One, two and three-bedroom apartments in a variety of floorplans are on offer. Residents on floors 7 to 50, City Rise apartments, will have their own ground floor lobby and access to communal facilities on podium levels three to five. Residents beyond level 53, High Rise apartments, will experience more comfort and luxury.
Floors 69 to 78 will be appointed Queens Residences and consist of penthouses and sub penthouses. Queens Residences and High Rise residents will benefit from a private lobby and receive exclusive access to the premium resident amenities on levels 51 and 52.
Within the podium, a childcare centre will also be available for resident’s and public use, a rarity to most apartment developments. Queens Place will have something for everyone – those into fitness, people seeking entertainment and watering holes, and people who like to relax can enjoy these amenities:
From the tailored-designed Hecker Guthrie styled apartments to the long list of amenities encapsulating all residents’ interests and passions, Queens Place is unique in every sense and promises a privileged lifestyle.
The towers are located close to Melbourne CBD’s finest public amenities and cultural, retail and education precincts. Over 600 fashion, specialty, dining and supermarkets stores that comprise Melbourne Central and Emporium shopping centre at just a short walk away with major train stations and tram lines connecting residents to outer Melbourne.
The RMIT University precinct is also just a short walk away, an educational hub for over 40,000 daily students and educators with quirky cafes, lively bars and entertainment.
Construction has begun on the major development and has set a precedent for twin towers all over Melbourne beyond the 350 Queen St site with Sapphire by the Gardens and Collins Arch in their construction phase also.
Multiplex is the builder for the towers with the first phase, an 80 storey, 820 apartment tower collaboration by Cox Architecture to be completed by late 2020 and the second phase to follow suit the following year.
