Planning for Wyndham Vale
In the local area, there are several transport infrastructure projects that will likely be delivered over the short, medium and long term.
Known as the Geelong Fast Rail project, new track would be built in the Laverton-Werribee corridor giving Geelong Vline services a more direct and faster route to Melbourne. Not all Geelong services would be diverted, however, capacity would be created on the existing route through Wyndham Vale and Tarneit stations for more commuter services.
Likewise, the Western Rail Plan could see the electrification of the line from Wyndham Vale to Deer Park and Sunshine (and likewise see a new connection from Wyndham Vale to Werribee built). Details on this plan are still yet to be released; however, it is expected this will happen in 2022.
Several schools are scheduled to be built in the local area. The Manor Lakes P-12 College is set to receive new upgrades by the end of 2024 and a new primary school is set to open for the 2024 school year at Holyoake. This follows on from the 2021 opening of Riverbend Primary School.
