^^ that's pretty good, actually. It's a pity the side horizontals couldn't match the floor levels of the heritage building, but I assume doing that would mean you'd have a carpark height that didn't comply with somethingorother.

Holder East have built quite a lavish display suite for their Oasis development. Its big ad campaign features its island site on Kingsway, and its proximity to St Kilda Road trams and the Shrine.

I haven't walked around the Riverside Quay area, opposite Eureka's Skydeck entrance, for quite a while, so it was good to see all the work they've done. Nice and leafy, with attractive wooden seating and platforms, bluestone borders and more cafes. Mirvac's redevelopment of that ugly carpark has helped too.

Renowned design teams to create public space for $1b Melbourne arts precinct
February 20, 2019 — 12.01am Debbie Cuthbertson

SOUTHBANK - SOUTH MELBOURNE | Smaller Projects, General News and Discussion
Australian architects Hassell and New York firm SO-IL will create the 18,000 square metres of public space for the $1bn Melbourne Arts Precinct.

Melbourne's $1 billion new arts precinct at Southbank will feature an elevated park, garden and pedestrian spaces to be partly designed by a New York-based firm.

Australian architectural studio Hassell and New York-based design firm Solid Objects Idenburg Liu have been awarded a joint contract to design 18,000 square metres of public space.

The elevated park, gardens and other pedestrian spaces will link Southbank's 40 galleries, theatres and arts organisations with the new NGV Contemporary, the revamped Arts Centre and its new Performing Arts Museum.

Both firms have serious form in designing cultural institutions and open spaces.

Hassell's recent projects include a museum in Western Australia and a revamp of the Australian Ballet's Melbourne headquarters. It has two other state government projects here: the $39 million redevelopment of Geelong Performing Arts Centre, and Melbourne Metro Tunnel.

Another photo from the Age article shows that the "car park masquerading as a ballet centre" will have considerable prominence. I hope they're not wasting the money they're currently spending on the ballet centre. Silk purses and sow's ears come to mind.

Architects Appointed To Redesign Melbourne Arts Precinct
20 February 2019

Melbourne design practice HASSELL, in partnership with New York’s SO-IL, will lead a local and international team to design the new the public space that will form part of the Melbourne Arts Precinct redevelopment.

The Melbourne Arts Precinct transformation project will include an elevated inner-city park and new pedestrian connections into and throughout the area, enabling visitors to move seamlessly from Southbank and the Yarra, through Melbourne’s iconic St Kilda Road cultural institutions.

The project will deliver 18,000 square metres of new and renewed open public space in what is one of Australia’s most densely populated suburbs.

HASSELL is an award-winning design practice with extensive experience in public space design, from Darwin’s waterfront to Sydney Olympic Park. The team is currently working on the Melbourne Metro Tunnel project, as well as major new public spaces in Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Based in Brooklyn, SO-IL (Solid Objects Idenburg Liu) has previously worked with New York’s MoMA and Frieze Art Fair. SO-IL is currently creating a new waterfront in Paris. The architects will lead a rigorous, collaborative design process to make sure that this massive new public space is the beating heart of Melbourne as a cultural capital.

The winning bid puts a strong focus on nature and will include seasonal gardens by world-renowned horticulturalists Nigel Dunnett and James Hitchmough, who transformed London’s Barbican Centre.

The Andrews Labor Government has invested $208 million over two years in the first phase of the project, to kick-start planning and enable the NGV and Arts Centre Melbourne to begin raising philanthropic funds for the revitalisation.

Overall, the project will create 10,000 jobs during construction, and 260 ongoing jobs. Once complete, it is expected to draw an additional 3 million people to the area each year.

Crown Group’s first foray into Melbourne apartments in Southbank set for 2024 completion
MAR 24, 2019 MELISSA HEAGNEY

The number of apartment developments under construction across Melbourne is slowing.

Melbourne’s cooling property market and investor uncertainty over negative gearing tax breaks in the lead-up to the federal election are increasing pressure on the market.

Added to that, an oversupply of apartments in the CBD is leading to longer days on the market waiting for a buyer. Inner Melbourne’s units spent an average of 91 days listed for sale, Domain data shows.

So it begs the question, why would Crown Group launch a new two-tower development, with 152 apartments in Southbank today?

One reason the art-inspired building is going ahead is because experts, including those at BIS Oxford Economics, predict the market in Victoria to bottom out in 2020.

The new apartment building at 175 Sturt Street, a joint venture with developer G3 Projects, won’t be completed until 2024.

A rare start in our current resi downturn. Work has begun on the 20L Park Ave, 39 Park Street, between St Kilda Road and Kingsway. The developer is Milbex, with CHT the architects. CHT are the principal architects for the massive West End project in Dudley Street, including the very swanky Adina Hotel. Demo is under way on the Park Ave site.

Recently, a special kind of player has appeared in online casinos - bonus hunters. They use the promotional welcome benefits of clubs for quick money. I would really like to have a deeper insight into what this bonus-hunting is and how to learn the game according to its principles. Who has some experience with this? I just know how they pick up casinos. They are based on ratings like https://casinostop10.com/ to immediately understand where there are maximum bonuses, and of course, they are only looking for real casinos. What's next?
