I'd imagine "Australia's tallest building" would be a bit more exciting to buyers than just any other building going up at the moment. Time will tell I suppose..

Just drove past 108, plenty of sound and many workers with cutting tools and grinders, site sheds going up and gantries up.

Demolition may come to a halt soon until planning permits are finalised.

Lets hope there are no significant delay to this one. Feel sorry for the poor millionaires who already have to wait 5 years for a penthouse.

Demolition I believe. May come to pass without any holdups who knows. Wouldn't be the only job in Melbourne which gets held up for months though.

Activity increasing, a lot of work going on above the gantry, looks like they are preparing to stabilize the old facade, they had one lane blocked off while a worker was directing the traffic, using a crane and cherry picker with workers piling materials on to the gantry. I would say they are ready to swing right into action.

Looking forward to this one.

The incorporation of the facades and the overall podium design seem like a good outcome too.Yes, its a carpark, but the open design and the plants will likely make this work well.

Almost like the Cosmos Garden City of the Future ...

(An amazing remake of the classic Carl Sagan series for one who hasn't seen it - mindblowing !)

This really is so exciting. I REALLY hope they stick to that podium with the trees.

Could not be happier, to see an iconic building commence to evolve from the ground up is fantastic. So many good projects get talked about without anything happening and this is not going to be one of them..

anyone know what is happening behind the heritage facade? is it retail or anything?

I guess the carpark treatment is at least better than the Eureka one!

Plans show 2 retail tenancies on the ground level of the heritage building.

I do hope it's lit up and treated well as it appears in the model there.

Just like they could have done with Lonsdale House before they tore it down to build Top Shop and a loading dock ..
