Hey guys...I'm a little confused. 661 chapel Street and Royal como are two completely different proposals being built next to each other????? Renders of actual royal Como building are hard to find and most searches just bring up images of 661.
Also.....Capitol/LK Tower should start pooping out of the ground late Jan early Feb 2017. A couple of quality eateries signed up for retail component recently.
Yes that's correct.
Royal Como - 663 Chapel Street

661 Chapel Street

Thanks Dean....they kind of look similar as well hence my confusion
Claremont Manor

Gisele

661 Chapel

Gisele is a great addition to the streetscape along Toorak Road. The lowrise building it replaced was of no consequence, and this is a good filler and respects the setbacks along Toorak Road and the nearby developments. More like this on the north side of Toorak Road would be good.
Agreed....Rockley Gardens development across the road should work well also.

6-8 Claremont st, from bates smart, 88m and 28L
I wonder if Boeri Studio have noticed Bates Smarts latest obsession with Bosco Verticale.......I love this (almost identical to their St Kilda Road proposal) but it's a little embarrassing that such a well respected firm like BS would shamelessly rip of the Italian firms design.
Imitation is a flattery, as they say...and I would not say it is exact rip off...yes the balcony arrangement is similar, and so what, there is many simmilar looking buildings everywhere...podium is different...good development overall!
Demolition has started on the Esque site.

Construction has started on Esque, a very narrow site, at 649 Chapel Street, between The Olsen and the Quest. 61m/20L.
Developer and political donor Bill McNee makes South Yarra rail project pitch
Developer Bill McNee, the political donor at the centre of a scandal involving an aircraft given to Pauline Hanson, is embarking on a new headache: trying to build over railway lines in Melbourne.
Mr McNee, a major donor to the Liberal Party during Matthew Guy's time as planning minister, is relying on the goodwill of the Andrews government to help build a $25 million project over tracks next to South Yarra railway station.
The project would see a three-level office and retail centre built above train tracks on Toorak Road, directly opposite South Yarra station.
Construction of the project, on land owned by VicTrack, would lie directly in the path of the proposed $11 billion Metro Tunnel rail extension. It sits near the proposed location for the South Yarra underground station Stonnington Council has been lobbying for.
VicTrack owns both the land the rail tracks sit on, and the air rights above them. VicTrack has given its support to the project.
The office building would not preclude later construction of an extra railway station. Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan is opposed to a new station there as part of the Metro Tunnel project, because of what would be high construction costs for an area already well serviced by heavy rail and trams.
Plans were lodged with Stonnington Council last week.

It's been a long wait, but they've started demo on the 55 Claremont Street site. Nice position, with protected northern views, because it's on the short east-west dogleg of Claremont, which faces onto Melbourne High's oval. A Michael Yates project, by Bird de la Coeur, who have designed several nearby towers, including 661 Chapel. It's difficult to find a decent render.
