Burnley-Richmond same same

RICHMOND + CREMORNE | 3121 | Projects

A listed Malaysian developer is set to launch a five-level strata office in Richmond amid a rise in leasing activity in the suburb's signature Botanicca estate in Swan Street.
The 6200-square-metre strata office block will be the first such inner-eastern office development since Stockland completed a smaller 4000 sqm strata building at the Tooronga centre on Toorak Road in 2012.
Knight Frank director Tim Grant said TRC (Aust), a subsidiary of TRC Synergy Berhad, would launch the new building in April in Botanicca Corporate Park, a multimillion-dollar A-grade office development on five hectares at the former Amrad site in Burnley.
The park, a joint venture between private developer Icon and property magnate Sam Alter, has recently become a magnet for retailers, attracting several head operations of large brands, said Colliers International's Rob Joyes.
Department store Harris Scarf and stationery supplier Office Max will relocate their headquarters from St Kilda Road and Mulgrave respectively.
Harris Scarf has leased 2200 sqm of space and Office Max has taken 1700 sqm.

the Dimmey's building tower is a million times better in person than the renders indicated at the start. Also the DImmey's building itself looks great all cleaned up and brick with the crappy yellow paint removed.

I have heard the Coles signage is slightly over hte top but haven't seen that in person.

^ they have giant letters over the verandah, as wel as at least 5 different signs underneath it, a bit of overkill but not replacing the Dimmeys letters in the clock with 'Coles' as someone said they might!

There is no way Heritage Victoria would approve the removal or change of the text on the clock. Sadly last year, there was a permit application to erect Coles signs on the clock tower but I am not sure if it was approved, but I suspect it will be.

Caydon beavers away on 271 units for plastics site

RICHMOND + CREMORNE | 3121 | Projects

Caydon Property will be hoping third time is a charm with redevelopment plans affecting a prominent industrial site on the Yarra River's edge.

Backed by Joe Russo, Caydon is seeking to build 271 apartments on the former Beaver Plastics plant which also abuts the Monash Freeway in the Richmond pocket known as Cremorne.

The $104 million proposal being overseen with respected development manager Georgia Willis, will contain a 16 level residential tower as well as commercial space.

The proposed tower will contain a curtain wall system along the freeway and an operable facade system on the northern side, to present as an animated facade.

It was regarding this site that Mr Russo went public in 2013 accusing the then Planning Minister Matthew Guy of "unbelievable behaviour" for rejecting a 21-level residential proposal.

Caydon withdrew an application to develop a 12-level office at 17-21 Harcourt Parade after receiving a specific height request (21 levels) from the now Opposition leader. The 12-level office permit was later obtained and is still active.
