As long as thats about it, wouldnt want it altered to much.
Would be criminal if they did demolish.

Hoping it encourages people to actually mill around that area, rather than just express walking past further up the street.

From the archive, 1967: this is what central Melbourne could have ended up like - a vision of the future, complete with revolving restaurant on top of the tower. This is the view from Elizabeth Street, looking across LaTrobe Street, with the State Library of Victoria in the background. Eventually, of course, it became Melbourne Central.

bit suburban in the park though - if they lost that driveway and brought it back to the footpath: better.

Found some more renders of Melbourne Centre Towers designed by Zaha Hadid for Docklands, pretty sure this was residential? Shattered they didn't go ahead..

As has been intimated by a few different people, 238 Harbour Esplanade Docklands is likely first off the rank at Digital Harbour, rather than any office buildings down there

^^ Be great if they get that hotel up and running, that area needs some more development to bring it to life urgently.

Loving the use of the Vertical Green Walls as part of the facade. I would assume that their is a watering system incorporated into the planted boxes and regular trimming will ensue.

Those Zaha Hadid designed towers looked great but just how viable such a proposal would have been certainly is something to consider.

They were proposed by SAMA back in the pre-GFC days, so maybe it had a chance then, but such designs these days would be very hard to get a developer to accept here. The costs in bringing this from the drawing board to reality would be considerable.

According to todays AFR, Jimmy Goh is selling a few of his development sites includung the carpark next door to McKenzie Tower (9-23 McKenzie Street), carpark across from Melbourne Central (224-250 La Trobe Street) and 229-241 Franklin Street next door to the Infinity development.

^^ Given the amount of proposals out there at present, this is a good site as it already has car parking revenue to generate a return in the meantime until a new development is ready to be developed.

Will be interesting to see how much interest it has.
