The scale and density of the towers built and being built in Dubai looks out of place to me. Also looks like a large amount of smog and dust/sand in some of those pics.

Observe. Design. Build. Live.

I stopped over at Dubai Airport on the way to Stockholm last year.

I was hoping to see its amazing skyline while landing and taking off again, instead, a duststorm obscured everything, I was only able to see what appeared to be one of the largest airports in the world.

Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene. Burj Khalifa, an 830m-tall tower, dominates the skyscraper-filled skyline. At its foot lies Dubai Fountain, with jets and lights choreographed to music. On artificial islands just offshore is Atlantis, The Palm, a resort with water and marine-animal parks.
