Its about bloody time DH got a tall, and its great its on this gateway site.
I like it. Will suit The Quays well also as gateways into the area. About time DH got some development in that corner.
I must say that the reflections of The Quays in the renders look damn impressive :)

Planning Minister Matthew Guy has granted approval to build a $130 million hotel and residential complex on one of the few remaining undeveloped spots in the northern end of Docklands.
The new project will be part of the Digital Harbour precinct and the 37-level tower will sit on the block of land at 238 Harbour Esplanade, between Harbour Esplanade and Wurundjeri Way.
Title records show the site is still owned by state government entity Places Victoria. But developer Digital Harbour (Holdings) acquired the development rights to the 4.4 hectare precinct more than a decade ago and has been progressively building commercial office projects in the area.
The plans call for a complex of 360 apartments and a 4.5-star, 176-room hotel. The facilities will include a 200-seat restaurant, conference centre, pool, gym and 255 car parking spaces. It has been designed by architects Moull Murray.
Mr Guy said the project was a ''huge boost'' to the northern end of Docklands. "This proposal will complete the Dudley Street/Harbour Esplanade gateway of Docklands and build on the precinct's services and public spaces in this growing neighbourhood,'' he said.
It is estimated the project will generate 480 construction jobs and 125 long-term jobs in the hotel and restaurant facilities.

Digital Harbour plans apartment towers

Now, the two sites, 48-54 Digital Drive, have been combined to provide for two separate towers. One is a low-riser of 14 levels, with 110 apartments. Another tower sits above an eight-level car park with 400 bays. The second, higher tower will be home to about 150 apartments.
In total, the floor area of the new development is about 36,000 square metres and goes directly to the Planning Minister Matthew Guy for consideration.
Parkroyal takes the reins at Digital Harbour’s Altus hotel
Private developer Digital Harbour has secured Parkroyal, a Pan Pacific Hotels Group operator, to manage its $300 million Docklands hotel and apartment project, The Altus.
The development comprises 281 hotel rooms and 299 apartments on the northern gateway into Docklands. It will be the fifth building developed in the precinct by Digital Harbour, which is controlled by a group of Melbourne-based investors including the Liberman family and Qualitas.
Construction on the 37-level tower is expected to get under way early next year. Pre-sales of the apartment section are already at 30 per cent. The residential pre-sale hurdle required before construction is lower than usual because the hotel operation is now secured.
The Parkroyal brand returned in 2010 to Melbourne, where it began with a hotel near Royal Park in the 1960s. The brand holds 13 hotels and resorts within the Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

Demand for off the plan apartments in Melbourne inner city suburbs continues to be very strong, this is why I get upset at the print media who continuously try to communicate an over supply and scare off buyers.
