Updated render with all 5 office towers:
I hope they've retained that faceted facade on Building 4C from the previous renders.
Also based on the precinct massing you'd hope that Site 5B + 6 would be a step up in height from Collins Square - otherwise I think there's a danger of creating a blob on the skyline.
I'm really looking forward to the retail component in this one, as I work across the road, but I can't tell if they're going to wait until all the towers are in before getting started.
Incorrect inform -- ps -cl : attach. Streets clear. No danger.
Will be interesting to see how the retail section goes. Given that there seem to be many vacant shops around at this point in time, it certainly raises a few questions.
Yes, there will be more 9-5 traffic because of the new offices, but there is very little in the way of residential planned around that area. Maybe that will change with the proposed development site next door (Lend Lease?). It will further enhance the chances of making this space a hub.
hrrrm looks like a choice of two buildings onsite for kpmg
KPMG weighs up Collins St options
Financial services firm KPMG has a short list of potential sites in Melbourne which meet its 30,000sqm requirements. If it was to move to Lang Walker’s Collins Square development in Docklands, it would be sufficient to drive the development of a third commercial building at the site.
I hope they move to the WTC.
That WTC proposal for KPMG looks amazing. I agree, build that one.
The new Collins Square tower will start getting being filled with new tenants next week. More life to come around that area.
Shops opening July i think it was:
Look at the hack job where the pavers join to the asphalt. Quality finishing.
are they suspended pods in the atrium?
Wow, Amazing photos Glenn. Thanks for sharing!
Quote from todays AFR
The latest tower in the massive Melbourne project – considered one of the largest private undertakings in the country – has attracted interest from the likes of accounting firms PwC and KPMG, as well as the ANZ.
Mr Walker confirmed the complex had been short-listed by a number of tenants.
“We’re working very, very hard to convert some of the short-listed positions into pre-commitments.”
According to the article I just posted in the commercial thread, KPMG are likely to lease space in this development. Although it does mention that they may also still stay where they are.
Here's hoping they kick off the big tower behind Mercer. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/property/rent-fears-trigger-for...
First stage of the retail component dubbed "the Lunch Room" opens this month:
New canopy between the Lantern building and Marsh Mercer is also on the way. Date TBC.
could have done something to jazz up the collins street frontage, still aesthetically ok
I dig the second pic, very cool...
Observe. Design. Build. Live.
The building in the fourth pic now has Commonwealth bank signage on it.
thanks qantas, which side of the building is it on?
West and north sides.
