Quest development continues Dandenong revitalisation
A new development is set to get the go ahead in Dandenong, indicating that the Revitalising Central Dandenong (RCD) project, Australia's second biggest urban renewal program after Melbourne's Docklands, is still on track.
Places Victoria, which oversees the project, has selected a preferred bidder for the next development site. It is opposite the new Australian Taxation Office that is under construction, which will be joined soon by a new Quest serviced apartment block next door.
About $360 million has been spent so far on the RCD project - $240 million by the state government and about $125 million by the City of Greater Dandenong – but now the government money has run out.

The Andrews Labor Government is promoting the growth of central Dandenong with the Salvation Army announcing they will build their new regional headquarters there.
The $12 million project on Walker St will create about 45 jobs in the heart of Dandenong to build both the HQ and a place of worship within the Revitalising Central Dandenong area.
The deal between Places Victoria and the Salvation Army means more than $100 million of construction will now be under way in Dandenong within the next 12 months.
Work has already begun on the $65 million Australian Tax Office building and the $25 million Quest Apartments.
I collect, therefore I am.
Bumping this thread - Riddlz just posted the pans-ops / height restrictions for Box Hill (from Moorabbin airport) in the Whitehorse Towers thread.
Based on Essendon -> CBD being around 7-8km as crow [plane] flies, Moorabbin -> Dandenong is about 5km - thus Dandenong would be quite restricted in height...?
Moorabbins 13L/13R runways look to have the potential to conflict with building height in Dandenong and I assume it's 35L/35R for Box Hill. https://goo.gl/maps/PFx4G

• Outdoor training areas, including a tower specifically designed for aerial appliance and rope rescue training
• Dedicated road accident rescue training
• Dormitory, amenity, training and storage areas for 16 staff at any one time
• Signalised direct access to Princess Hwy, allowing easier access to Eastlink and improved response times to North and South Dandenong.

Industry Minister Lily D’Ambrosio has turned the first sod for construction of a $135 million dollar global headquarters for Australia’s largest locally-owned pharmaceutical company in Dandenong south.
The new headquarters for Ego Pharmaceuticals includes a distribution centre and new manufacturing facility. Stage one of the project is expected to be finished by late 2017 and will create 200 new jobs.
The Andrews Labor Government provided support for the company’s planning application to enable the development of infrastructure at the site over the next 25 years.
