Oxley apartments is certainly in "the hot spot" just next to Proud Mary and the Panama Dining Room! Although, as part of the development The People's Market will need to find a new home.
>>The mix has attracted a rush to redevelop as well as objectors. Melbourne-based Urban Inc, among others, is set to capitalise on the change with work to start this year on a mid-rise, 233-dwelling apartment in Stanley Street (artist's impression, above right), opposite the suburb's heritage listed Foy & Gibson precinct. Mercon Group has been appointed as builder.
(should read Merkon Construction)
>>The group's Elenberg Fraser-designed structure, which rises to nine levels in four components, was to be developed in stages but would now be built as one project after 190 of 233 units sold before the official launch, Mr Gurner said.
>>The Logiudice family's Banco Group was expected to start a 238-apartment, mixed-use development in nearby Smith Street and developer Martin Strode will push ahead with 17-storey towers on the historic Yorkshire Brewery site.
Great news for the Yorkshire Brewery, i cant wait to see the old girl get fixed up with a brand new roof and repaired brick work, its soo long overdue..
Has become abut more uniform along the frontage than originally but still some good effort to break it up like the traditional terrace strip shops along smith. Especially like the red screened bit in the final photo.
2 Girls is one interesting apartment complex.
On the outside, the 2 Girls Building is a work of art, inside it’s an art gallery.
The walls are lined with inspiration from contemporary local artists.
The light wells are sculptured art installations.
Love it!
