Without having even gone to sales yet ? That's optimistic.

They'd better get a hurry on and launch soon ..

What is that utter train wreck of a podium about? This is even worse than before.

Can someone please inform every architect in the country that adding "interest" to your design by adding random off-colour panels ALWAYS looks as cheap as it makes its designer appear autistic.

I'm looking at you, Westpac docklands.

hi mate

i suppose with Ritz Hotel Committing to Tower 1, they mightn't have to sell too many of the apartments in the first tower to kick it off ?

Cheers

Hopefully is a massive improvement on the rubbish they built over the road :(

Adrian, you really need to give it a bit of a rest - you don't need to make a smart arse reference to me in every other post you write.

On another note, a July start seems a bit odd considering they spent around $4 million on the display suite and it hasn't even opened yet!

They've still got their Manhattan tower in Upper West Side under construction and The Fifth is barely out of the ground. I'd say once Manhattan is out the way and the Fifth gets closer to completion we'll see more action.

Firstly Far East still needs to finish off Upper West Side.
Far East also has the new Brisbane Queens Wharf casino project on their agenda (a very big project).

It seems Far East have slightly put the slows on this. Also a general economic slowdown means it may be prudent to see how economies play out (especially the Chinese one). Heck, I would do the same.

Definitely one tower at a time on this one. Likely the tallest first :) I'm still confident that Ritz Carlton will rise during 2017.

I like the brutalism in the design, even the podium.

I don't think there is anyothing odd about starting some ground works in July/August.

Sorry Qantas can't help it you do ask for it some of your posts border on the ridiculous with their negativity.

Unless they open that display suite this month and start selling no way they'd start ground works in July / August they'd have to move the display suite again barely after its opened !

I was told they were keen to get Elizabeth Quay in Perth happening first then this one. That's now been under sales for some time and looks set to begin soon. I don't really buy into the whole one at a time project thing though, especially in different cities if the demand is there I'm sure they'd selling. Upper West Side finished marketing ages ago.

Still reckon the issue could be getting approval of the final design. Maybe they're waiting for the interim planning controls to end ?

I was under the impression the display suite won't be completed until March.

Any idea who won the interiors package for the apartments?

I reckon they will launch the 2 towers on Spencer St together. The second tower in the render looks to be about 220-240m

No, it will be less than that. It is the shortest of the four (plan change not withstanding).

Our best guess is around 210m. The other two, we guess, are around 230m and 240m each.

Ritz Carlton is the king of the block for sure.

But yes, it does seem possible that the front two may be constructed side by side. Time will tell; hopefully July/August for site-works.

Their shared podium would seem to indicate that.

Still find it hard to believe it will start in Jul/Aug when they spent $4 million on a display suite that will only be open for 2-3 months...

Maybe they can move the display suite to another part of the site just like they did on UWS.

I doubt they will get ride of it.

Why don't you just wait and see.

I will wait and see, but I really do think this is the most precarious of all the biggies planned to go up at the moment as (a) it's a lot of apartments in a saturated market, and (b) it's in a terrible part of town (especially if Premier's slow sales are being blamed on it's less-than-desirable location). It may just work if the developers throw a lot of money at it and make it a real 'destination' project.........The Ritz Carlton might save it, but they are taking a big risk with the location, in my opinion.

Upper West Side is the only saving grace that has really got the area moving - if not for that then WSP wouldn't stand a chance.

I'm told that this has had a lot of pre-launch interest/registrations thanks largely to the presence of the Ritz Carlton.

Mark, did you want to update the thread title - I'm informed it's been max 79 levels and 270m for yonks already.

One of the things going for West Side Place is Far East Consortium. They seem fairly deep pocketed (an understatement) unlike a few other developers in Melbourne. They are doer's rather than proposer's.

They are going to need to dig into those pockets to finish ALL four towers AND Queen's Wharf Casino in Brisbane.

I suspect towers 3 & 4 are many many years away. That's ok since Tower 1 is the king and that looks to be the first one to go up.
