Hudson: Built and looking very good!
Madison: Under construction
I collect, therefore I am.
I like the way both the Hudson podium and the Neo200 podium look in that last photo.
A big improvement on Spencer Street!
The podium of the Hudson has turned out REALLY well i think. This development will most certainly become a hive of activity when it is fully complete. Far East Consortium seem to have really thought about the things that make Melbourne tick and have incorporated those into this development. Well done.
Observe. Design. Build. Live.
good development, but those rail yards...
in time grandmaster.... in time....
You are right Chris, it will happen in time but given the ammount of land still available in docklands, southbank and to a lesser extent the cbd, plus the land coming online in port melb and egate, it could be a while before enough commercial pressure occurs to see developments over the tracks, especially given the expense of doing so. Might need a bit of a nudge from a state gov project to get things happening. Fingers crossed though, it's a hell of an opportunity, and a hell of a blight at the moment.
As for Upper West side, I'm pretty happy with it overall, the tower itself looks good and it should bring some nice activity to an area of the CBD that needs it, bit worried about how that cladding on the lower levels might look after a few years in the real world. Second tower is looking equally promising.
Amazing to see a bit of a 'wall of towers' effect happening on Spencer.
Thats correct DB, I guess its good to keep in mind that land values will increase over time and land "close to the CBD" will become less and less prevalent making building over the rail lines more attractive to an investor/developer. Personally I hope when they do decide to build over the rail lines in Docklands that they destroy the DFO building that is a blight on Spencer Street and devise an outcome that is inviting to pedestrians (at the moment it isn't) and encourages people to venture towards Docklands. This will be essential in creating connectivity with Docklands and the Hoddle grid which at the moment does not exist and is part of the reason why some deem Docklands as a "wasteland". An unfair assessment at this stage in my opinion.
Midtown over 50% sold already, pretty good considering it was only released last month.
Hollllyyyyyy Guacomoleeeee!! those apartments are flying out the door! wonder if investors were impressed with the standard of the Hudson and then decided to commit?
Great updates as per usual Ryan. I reckon at this rate Maddison will be topped out before the year is out.
Great to have some nice facades facing Spencer street, a couple of Ryan's pic show that there might be some interesting interplay of reflections between the Hudson and Madison facades too. Hopefully Far East can keep up this standard on future developments.
Thanks for the updates guys.
WoW, those photos are fantastic, as is the whole Upper West Side development :)
few more. not a fan of the podium facing lonsdale
It seems that the developers are trying to create some kind of structural homage to the old Powerstation along the Lonsdale side .
Damn, I love the creative use of colour on skyscrapers.
