A shame to lose what's already on the site for this.
agreed, nothing special at all..
Currently on the site, easily restorable 1930's pub facade
^^ Keep the original face and this ones a good outcome.
Without it, no thanks.
^^ Reminds me of this one below on LaTrobe Street.
Wouldn't care if it doesn't go up at all.
Actually prefer what's there already.

Same architects i think - DKO Architecture
This had been approved, so it's just if it get's financed.
looks very average, especially the interiors, and for such a prominent spot
Seems to be a pattern with this architect thinking cheap concrete with obvious join marks and slightly darker colours in bits makes for good design in real life?
Just another filler, and not a good one at that.
Hamilton Marino is the builder

Demolition has begun:

Look at all those windows on the side boundary ! Bet purchasers arnt told they could be covered up by a new tower next door ! And interesting how it fits the height limit envelope, with 40m front bit, 10m setback - wonder why the citadenes hotel didnt do that ? The whole building is boxed in ! Also bit crazy to have giant windows looking north over Bourke Street - not only will this mean hot apartments (unless special thermal glass panels), but everyone will see in, bet the curtains will be always pulled.

^^ What's going on here? Are they expecting a lot of dust from next door's development?
