So long as it continues to be bathed in sunlight (which is unlikely) it will remain lovely. God help it when it's gripped by the filth of an unforgivable Victorian winter.

Agree. At the moment they disrupt the rhythm of the rippling facade somewhat. The removal of hoists and cladding of the flanks will also help improve it visually.
^^ Amazingly, the last few updates have seen me coming around to liking this tower. Not completely there yet, but I may have been too early on my negativity towards this one.
Elenberg Fraser = Bronze Glass (generally)
Bronze Glass = Not appealing in renders
Elenberg Fraser = Real bronze colour tweaked to make it look better in renders
That's how I see it anyway...
I will be surprised if Tower Melbourne and the Eq. Tower aren't bronze either. Although I kind of hope they aren't...
I'm beginning to feel that EF are really only any good at drawing renders and thats it.....waiting to be proven wrong though.
Most renders you see of EF buildings are done by Pointilism or Floodslicer.
Such an odd tower, I like it, then I dislike it, then I see it at another angle and I like it again. I think it will prove itself upon completion.
^^ Waiting to see how they treat the podium.
The sky-rise upper section facing Russell Street looks fantastic, especially in the afternoon sunlight that Ryan has captured above. ^^
I collect, therefore I am. thecollectormm.com.au

That's the last of the balcony levels - all enclosed from here on up.
I think no balconies will help it's cause

Can only hope it comes together well.
Ok...so it actually looks REALLY good in those last few pics.
I wonder what the design philosophy is behind those wavy, irregular lines?
It seems to be gaining traction with a number of architects.
So much better without balconies:

first setback precast panel in place - i think the crown has commenced so just about topped out
