I share your concerns. It looks far from the render so far and it's hard to see how it will be anywhere near that look in the end.

Lets hope Tower Melbourne turns out as good as it seems it can be.

agreed, give this one a bit more time. still a long way to go. Personally I dont like to make a full judgement on the quality of a building until it is near completion... gotta give it a chance :)

looks like the crane is on an internal climbing system, no adding tower sections under the cab. guess it allows apts below crane to be completed

Thanks again for the pics Mark. It is definitely going to have a significant effect on the skyline.
This one was looking a bit too busy/messy for me, but now that it is gaining some height the undulations are becoming much more legible. I think I am going to like it (except for the now all too common plain precast cliffs and the shite podium carpark). Does any know if the ground floor/street interface on this building is going to be any good?
