This one is now known as "The Peak". Pre-launch sales currently underway, official launch early next year. New design.
It's a shame to lose one of the liveliest sections of this part of La Trobe Street for this - as a model for "activating" previously dead spaces, the fantastic little Tokyo style plywood cafe here is the perfect piece of improvised urbanism. Can the new building incorporate something as great? ... of course not.
That lobby is embarrassing. Not as bad as the graphic panels on "You and I" in Collingwood, but embarrassing whitebread crass commercialism nevertheless.
What would you prefer?
That is a illustrative shop window display not the lobby :-)
70% sold so far according to the VIMG website
Some sort of variation to plans I guess
Demolition of existing buildings and construction of a multi-level building (retail at ground floor and residential apartments above) in the Central City Zone Schedule 1 and waiver of the loading
VIMG website says this is sold out
Interesting, thank you. I looked at this site the other day, after I took a shot of 42, and wondered how it was going.
Long wait for this one, but they've finally started demolition. Another 140m filler in our NE hotspot, this is across the road from Atira's 131m student tower at 42-50 La Trobe, and half a block from Sapphire/Shangri La. Wesley Place is one block south. A VIMG project, I wonder if they waited for settlement on their Coventry Haus project, before firing the starting pistol on this one. Thanks PaPa for render.

From a funding perspective it would make sense because this one's been sold out for a while. Maybe two constructions loans going at once for the same developer was a bit hard to achieve in this market. Just speculating.
Yeah sold out for ages. They also have a few on the go in Sydney and Brisbane
What's the plot ratio on this one? It looks particularly tall and skinny.
It was submitted under one of the older schemes if I remember correctly. Could be wrong
They've finished clearing the site for The Peak. Those cranes are on the Wesley Place site.
The first piece of equipment is on site, so hopefully a construction start is imminent.
Site works have begun.
Core foundations I'm guessing
