Melville Road near smith St: there once was a planning permit for a "4 level building" on the intersection, and now there's a planning permit for 4x townhouses. A pity cos the area has a precedent with a lot of older style walk-up flats and its on a direct and very frequent tram route.
Mark's write up on the Commons (listed above): http://urbanmelbourne.info/development/2013/04/01/is-this-melbournes-bes...
Great roundup of projects. There's some interesting projects that have been recently built in West Brunswick between Melville Road and Citylink.
On Albion Street? (old google streetview) yeah - it's nicely activated what's really only a dormitory street. there's still a fair bit of land to the south to build on as well (new building only takes up - at a guess 1/4 - of what you see in the street view link).

Mark, how the hell do you manage to make such a big contribution to the establishment and maintainence of this site AND find the time to get pics of all these developments as well???? I assume your job gets you around a fair bit. I appreciate the effort!
yes it does, add a little time management as well
subject to a few minor conditions, this one has the green light

Article recently on Lygon St East Brunswick: http://urbanmelbourne.info/development/2013/06/08/hotspots-lygon-street-...
Got off at Anstey station today so took a few pics of 7 Florence (The Commons).
Looks like sales are going well - only one 1BR left.
good stuff!
MAP Architects have done well, Joulia Apartments coming through nicely, adds something to the area
Joulia looks very nice! Definitely adds a lot. I think the wavy metal fins break up the overall bulk of the building at street level and create a visually appealing facade. Well done MAP.

^^ Great news.
Looks like a great development for that area.Having parkland across the street must be a great selling point.
Word from UMi user Adam, who is also the developer for The Commons in Brunswick, has indicated that the planter boxes for the rooftop garden will be lifted into position in the next month. See comment here http://urbanmelbourne.info/comment/2188#comment-2188
