Western Australia leads new listings activity: RP Data

Western Australia has led all Australian states for new residential listings activity over the month to June 23, according to the latest information from RP Data.

Western Australia had a 5.3% rise in new listings activity (seasonally adjusted) over the month. Meanwhile, Tasmania had a 2.4% rise in new listings activity.

Victoria only had a 1.0% rise in new listings activity and New South Wales declined by 0.2%.

Nationally, there was only a 0.2% increase in new listings activity.

The RP Data Listings Index provides a lead indicator for the number of residential dwellings that are being prepared for sale across the Australian housing market.

RP Data customers account for over 70% of all listings in the Australian property market.

The index, which tracks the flow of metadata acrossRP Data’s real estate data platform, shows a 75% correlation with the number of new listings about to enter the market.
