Wenona Schools buys up more of North Sydney

The Wenona School has purchased another North Sydney property, highlighting the expansionary ways of private schools in pricey neighbourhoods.

The 81 Ridge Street cottage cost $2.15 million.

The double fronted Federation is on a 409 square metre block opposite North Sydney Oval.

The school's previous big property acquisition was when they purchased the Independent Theatre, at 269 Miller Street, North Sydney, from the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust for $4.97 million in 2013.

It also bought 263 Miller Street in 2012 for $2.65 million.

Wenona has been an independent, non-denominational day and boarding school since 1886.
