RP Data has researched the entry point price for the top 1 percent of apartments across the capital cities.

1. Sydney's top 1 percent of units begins at $2.11 million

2. Perth's was $1.63 million.

3. Melbourne's top 1 percent of units was $1.57million.

4. Darwin's top 1 percent of units was $1.5 million.

5. Brisbane's top 1 percent starts at $1.45 million.

5 Canberra's was $1.1 million.

7. Adelaide's was $1.08 million.

8. Hobart's top 1 percent of units kicks off at $1.03 million.
