Sydney outperforms rest of Australia in hotel room rates: Savills

The hospitality sector continued its growth trajectory in 2017, according to recent data from Savills.

Revenue per available room Australia-wide increased 2.3% for the year-to-date till September, according to Savills Hotels recent quarterly update.

Sydney continued to outperform Australian markets with a RevPAR gap of $40+ over the next best market performer, Melbourne.

Perth was the worst performer, with RevPAR down down 13.3%.

The best growth markets were Canberra (up 11.8%), Cairns (up 9.4%) and Sydney (up 6.2%).
