Sydney houses sell faster than other capital cities: RP Data

Sydney has the lowest average time on market for houses and units and the second lowest average vendor discounting for houses of all the capital cities, according to RP Data.

Houses spend an average of 36 days on the market in Sydney, with the average discount at 6.9%. Units sell slightly quicker at 32 days and at a discount of 5.3%.

Darwin has the lowest vendor discount for houses at 4% while Perth has the lowest for units at 2.3%.

Houses take the longest to sell in Hobart, at 83 days, and units take the longest in Darwin, at 101 days.

Houses are the most discounted in Brisbane, at 8.7% and Adelaide has the most discounted units at 8.1%.
