Surge in commercial property enquiries: Cohen Handler

Cohen Handler, the Sydney buyer’s advocacy group, has seen a significant increase in demand from buyers enquiring about commercial property.

“In the last year, we have seen a 20% increase in enquiries about commercial property from our existing residential clients looking to expand their property portfolios,” said Ben Handler, the Cohen Handler chief.

"While some buyers are looking to diversify their self-managed super funds, others are interested in purchasing commercial real estate to service their business needs and diversify their portfolios. As such, Cohen Handler identified an opportunity to better service commercial buyers."

Founded in 2009, Cohen Handler has appointed Michael Salvartsis as head of its newly created commercial division.

With over 27 years’ experience in the business and property sectors; Salvartsis has managed property risk and valuation teams at HSBC Bank for the last 12 years.

Salvartsis has also held management roles at Chesterton International and First State Property Group.
