Sheeva Tavakoli, the wife of the Sydney plastic surgeon Dr Kourosh Tavakoli, has emerged as the mystery $16.35 million buyer of a Darling Point harbourfront.

It was sold by the property developer Eduard Litver and his wife, Adriana with the buyer's identity a closely kept secret until the recent settlement lodgement details on the five-bedroom waterfront reserve house with swimming pool.

It had been listed on and off since late 2011 initially with overly ambitious $20 million-plus hopes.

The house is at the bottom of a steep site comes with a glass-covered inclinator.

The land was once part of the Babworth Estate.

The property was bought by the Litvers for $5 million in 2008 when it was only partially built to capitalise on its views across Double Bay. It comes with 750 square metres internal space.

Title Tattle gathers the three-storey Eastbourne Road house was sold through Steven Chen at McGrath Estate Agents.

Darling Point's highest house sale remains the Sutton's $18.25 million purchase in 2007 from tourism entrprenuer Barry Wain.

The next priciest was back in 2001 when the Davey family bought Craigend for $16 million.

The cosmetic surgeon, who has 16,827 likes on facebook, was last in the social pages big-time when he threw a party called Plastique Fantastique at Zeta Bar. The Sydney print gossip columnists, Hornery and Horton were briefly captivated with the Tavakoli's described as a "camera-ready couple" by one scribe.

Dr Tavokoli settled into his new New South Road, Double Bay clinic, which comes with full-frontal signage, last month.
