An undisclosed international and local restaurateur has signed a lease for 349-351 Flinders Lane, Melbourne with plans for a Japanese fusion style offering.

The deal for the 690 square metre ground floor and basement areas which have been operating as Bluestone Bar & Restaurant in the heritage listed building since 2000 was brokered by Teska Carson agent, Richard Munday.

The new tenant will pay $216,500 per annum and plans to refurbish much of the property and offer a menu of Japanese fusion.

"Melbourne has an excellent reputation for its international laneway dining experience and Flinders Lane is one of the most highly sought after with a consistent trading pattern established over several decades and offering very positive growth prospects based on upward trends in both population and tourism,’’ Munday said.

The lessor is a Melbourne based private investor.
