Maritime engineering group OMC International has leased a 996sqm office in Melbourne's Abbotsford in a decade-long deal.

The building has had a full refurbishment and includes a large outdoor deck looking out to Dights Falls on the Yarra River and a solar farm with 320 solar panels.

The office was leased at $355 per square metre per annum net plus GST on behalf of the Australian Education Union (AEU) through Fitzroys agents Stephen Land, Peter Weatherby and Martin Huang.

Land said the AEU owner occupies the majority of the building and had identified the space as surplus to its accommodation needs.

“OMC have a long association with Abbotsford and wanted to remain in the immediate area," he said.

"They were drawn to the premises due to the high quality of the space and services the building offered, the ample on-site car parking."
