One of the world's biggest real estate groups - Jones Lang LaSalle - this week changed its name to JLL.

The decision to shorten the name, said the company, was “a natural evolution of the firm’s historically rich brand, recognising that it is a truly global company located in multiple markets, with a wide range of expertise applied through many different client services".

JLL Australia chief executive Stephen Conry said: “this is a natural and exciting progression".

"We were the first global commercial property firm to establish an Australian presence and we continue to evolve."

"Our new name JLL is modern and suits our vision for the future of our business.

He also made a point of saying that JLL was particularly well suited to the many digital applications and mobile channels it used, where shorter names worked better.

The JLL name and new logo will be rolled out globally over the next two years.
