CBRE Hotels has been appointed to sell the Grand Hotel Cairns on a freehold going concern basis.

Positioned on a 2,035sqm landholding, the well-known traditional pub style venue is located on a high profile corner in the heart of the Cairns CBD.

The venue comprises the Croc Bar – featuring a distinctive timber crocodile bar top and serving as a prominent communal space within the hotel – as well as an adjoining public bar including a casual lounge and dining area, which services a classic hotel menu catered for by the full commercial kitchen.

The hotel also features two alfresco dining areas, a separate designated gaming room with 20 machines and first floor accommodation comprising 19 guest rooms, communal lounge and kitchen areas.

It also includes an adjacent dual lane drive through with two detached bottle shops.

Paul Fraser said the strong level of enquiry recorded throughout the successful sale of the Cairns Courthouse Hotel reflects astute investors interest in the leisure market.

Offers close November 23.
