Former Olympic swimmer Giaan Rooney secures Port Melbourne cottage offer

The former Olympic swimmer Giaan Rooney, and the Channel 7 weather presenter, had her Port Melbourne cottage up for weekend auction.

It is now under contract, athough the agent won't disclose the post-auction negotiations.

The home was tipped to fetch more than $1.08 million when offered through Brett Hallan at Greg Hocking Real Estate Albert Park.

Brett Hallan marketed the weatherboard as "impressively renovated and intelligently extended."

The Victorian terrace has three bedrooms and two bathrooms with an indoor-outdoor focus at the rear.

With polished floors and high ceilings, the main bedroom is upstairs with a walk-in robe and ensuite.

It last traded at $770,000 in 2006.
