Dwelling equity: The official ABS state-by-state data

The plurality of home owners in all six state capitals cities have between $200,000 and $399,999 equity in their homes, but in ACT and NT the plurality of home owners have between $400,000 and $599,999, ABS figures show.

The data also shows that more Tasmanian home owners (about 32%) have between $200,000 and $399,999 equity in their homes than home owners in any other state.

More home owners in Western Australia (13%) have $800,000 or more in their homes than owners in any other state.

The ABS data also shows the size of mortgages in each state.
