Mellifont, the historic Annandale Federation Queen Anne building which had been the Calliope Child and Family Centre psychiatrists, has sold for $2.6 million.

The property on the corner of Albion and Johnston Street last traded for $445,000 in 1996 and comprised of a number of consulting rooms.

The local family purchasers are to convert it back to a residence.

It could be turned into a five or six bedroom family home, suggested Pilcher Residential selling agents Simon Pilcher and Rocco Colosi.

It was once the home of Mary Philomena and John Cahill.
