A retail property within one of Melbourne’s most iconic retail shopping villages has been listed for sale via auction.

Originally a post office until 1996, the property is close to Canterbury Train Station.

Known as the Maling Room, the 930 sqm corner property sits within Maling Road Village in the Canterbury retail strip.

It was initially listed in May last year with an expected price of around $6 million through Colliers International, having been under the same ownership for over 100 years.

The auction is on December 8.

Sitting at the corner of Maling Road and Canterbury Road, the two-level freestanding building has a net lettable area of 790sqm and is fully leased to five local retail tenants, including The Maling Room café, Bendigo Bank, Tim’s Bookshop, Nourish on Maling and Micky Junior Shoes.

The listing agents are CBRE’s Nathan Mufale, Rorey James, Jing Jun Heng and Mark Wizel.
