A residential property with a permit for 10 apartments at Hampton, one of MELBOURNE's sandbelt locations, will go under the hammer on November 27.

The 22 Railway Crescent property is expected to fetch more than $1.8 million.

It is a four-bedroom, two-storey home on a 420 square metre site zoned General Residential 2 with frontage to Railway Crescent.

An approved permit allows for the development of a three-storey building containing 10 apartments with roof decks and basement car parking.

The property is located within walking distance of Hampton Village strip shops and railway station, as well as numerous other local amenities, including the Hampton Beach.

It is being sold through Teska Carson’s Adrian Boutsakis and Fergus Evans.

"With a permit in place for an apartment development the property will obviously appeal to developers in what is a highly sought after residential area, but it will also appeal to a family looking for an exceptional home in a prime location within easy commuting distance of the CBD," said Boutsakis.

Evans said an upsurge in the area’s popularity, with its easy access to MELBOURNE’s CBD and the beach, had driven the development of new, high-profile, residential and commercial projects there.
