An owner-occupier in the merchandising and distribution sector is believed to have paid around $5 million for a substantial office and warehouse complex at Clayton in Melbourne’s south-east following an expressions of interest process managed by Savills Australia.

Located at 1808 Princes Highway the property comprises a 6250 square metre building, including a 1000 square metre office component, on a 12,250 square metre site.

According to Savills’ associate director, Daniel Kelly, the locality, the quality of the building with room for expansion and the prominent, highly exposed location were key considerations for the purchaser.

He said the purchaser was yet another tenant which had taken advantage of low interest rates to become an owner-occupier.

The vendor was a Melbourne based private investor.
