Developer pays $3.22 million for Ashburton property

A developer has paid $3.22 million for a double-fronted street level Ashburton property with the intention of seeking approval to build a multi-level residential block.

The site, 237-239 High Street Ashburton property is on a 460 square metre site, has two levels split between 194 square metres in total and features ground floor retail space with 12 metre frontage onto High Street. It was sold subject to a short term tenancy at $74,807 per annum.

Around 100 onlookers attended the Teska Carson auction.

It last sold in 1995 at $570,000 when sold by Westpac.
