Just 15 months after purchasing it for $13 million, Halcyon Group has sold the landmark Buena Vista Hotel in Mosman through Ray White Hotels.

It was sold to a new hotel operation – The Public House Management Group (PHMG) at an undisclosed higher price.

The Medich family-operated Halcyon purchased the Buena Vista early last year.

It had submitted plans for a make-over of the pub which Ray White director Andrew Jolliffe advised helped seal the sale.

“The Buena Vista is patently one of those hotels that enjoys almost folklore status within the hotel industry,” said Andrew Jolliffe on the pubtic website.

Prior owners have included the Kelly family's Newhaven Park Stud who bought it from Austotel in 1992 for around $3.3 million.
