Sydney's 2014 house price surge: RBA chart pack

The extent of the continued Sydney house price surge is well illustrated in the latest RBA chart pack.

The housing prices chart (pictured below) shows not only the growing gap after Sydney's price escalation between traditional rival Melbourne, but also the price proximity that has been surrendered since the previous 2010 peak.

CoreLogic RP Data also shows much the same pattern in the relationship between Melbourne and Perth prices.
