Melbourne's Duke of Kent hotel sells to Singaporean developer

The Singaporean developer Fig Tree Holdings has purchased the Duke of Kent hotel  development site in central Melbourne.

The $14.08 million sale was through DTZ by private investors George Yankos, Antigone Yankos and Lambros Yankos.

Figtree Holdings Ltd is incorporated in Singapore with Danny Siaw its executive chairman.

Siaw and another of its board members have had tertiary education in Australia. Siaw started his career in November 1990 as a site engineer with Civil & Civic Pty Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Building from the University of Melbourne.

The 503 square metre Melbourne CBD site is at 293 to 299 LaTrobe Street with frontages to Sutherland Street and Flanigan Lane.

It came with a preliminary development scheme for 322 apartments and ground floor retail.
