What’s happening in the area you specialise in?

We are having to work harder in retaining tenants and owners are still reticent about upgrading their properties to make them more sustainable.

Describe the most interesting commercial property you have worked on?

An old office building in Freo, Did a NABERS Energy assessment and a tenancy lighting assessment as the property was going up for sale. Because of its age the building performed badly and I put forward a plan of action to improve the buildings performance. In the end the property was sold before we could actually start the project.

What are the ingredients to being successful in your job?

Patience, good humour, numerous and being analytical

What aspects of your role do you enjoy the most?

Undertaking NABERS assessments on buildings and advising clients how the performance off their buildings can be improved to benefit both them and their tenants. Then working to achieve those goals.

Where would you invest a spare $750,000?

In one of the new industrial estates in northern suburbs of Perth

Which football team do you support?

Western Force and The Harlequins (Rugby Union is the only real football code!)

What’s your favourite app or techno gadget?

Leasa by RICS, an excellent comparison tool for determining energy costs of larger buildings and tenancies.

How do you use social media?

I utilise both Twitter and LinkedIn to maintain a professional presence on social media
