Refurbished freehold hotel on the Sunshine Coast offered for sale

A refurbished freehold hotel at Nambour in the tightly held Sunshine Coast region has been offered for sale. 

Known as The Commercial Hotel, the three-storey property includes a two level accommodation annexe and a drive through bottle shop which is all situated on a site area of about 1,419 square metres. 
Leon Alaban and Tony Bargwanna of Ray White Hotels Australia are marketing the 35 Currie Street hotel. 

It was extensively refurbished in 2007 and generated an annual turnover (exclusive of gaming revenue) of more than $6.5 million in the 2012-13 financial year. 

Mr Alaban said the property was a rare chance to secure a freehold hotel within the tightly held Sunshine Coast hinterland. 

Facilities in the hotel, he said, included a public/sports bar, dining area, alfresco dining/beer garden, function room, kitchen, drive through bottle shop, three detached bottle shops and accommodation areas.

“The hotel’s gaming room has 30 electronic gaming machines however there is an approval to operate up to 37 EGMs,” he said.

The hotel comprises of 12 hotels rooms all with en suites.

The bottle shop is independent of any liquor purchasing group. It also includes three detached bottle shops in Nambour, all within 8 kilometres of the hotel, said Mr Bargwanna. 

The tender campaign closes on April 16.
