Chef Mary Ellis’ The Barn and Cliffys in Daylesford are scheduled to go under the hammer next month.

Cliffys Emporium at 30 Raglan Street has been part of the Daylesford streetscape since the 1860s but has operated as a café, wine bar and produce store since 2001.

The 183-square-metre property (pictured below)  is currently leased until June next year and returns approximately $24,000 per annum – a 4.8% rental yield.

Located directly behind Cliffys is The Barn, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom bed and breakfast created by Mary Ellis 10 years ago.

Located at 1 Wombay Street, The Barn (pictured below) is situated on 362 square metres and offers a business opportunity or a private residence.

A bedroom in The Barn can be booked from $460 for two nights.

Both properties were part of a larger nursery, which was subdivided in July 2008.

The properties will be sold one after the other, with both properties listed with a price guide each of around $500,000.

Listing agent Jock Langley says a couple of people have been interested in buying both as a package.

Langley says Cliffys has become a bit of an icon in Daylesford and is likely to be retained as a business.

The two properties will go under the hammer on September 8 through Jock Langley and Sam Goddard of Abercromby’s Real Estate.
